Associate Vice President - Credit Research (Fixed-Income)

We are looking for a driven professional to lead and manage the growth of its fixed income research services business. This leadership position entails supporting the BU head in growing the practice, governing day-to-day operations, building strong relationships with existing clients, and bolstering internal processes (experience in research products automation will be an added advantage). The candidate is expected to provide thought leadership on fixed income research, identify growth areas, devise go-to market strategy and enhance the research offerings.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Account management:

• Managing existing client engagement and identifying mining opportunities for organic growth
• Communicating effectively with clients to ensure ongoing governance of current engagements and effective resolution of client/project-related issues.

Leading business growth:

• Track relevant market trends and map opportunities in the fixed-income space to provide sales intelligence
• Independently lead calls with prospective clients to pitch our research capabilities on fixed-income products

Knowledge management and solutioning:

• Possesses deep experience in fundamental credit analysis to guide the team
• Lead solutioning activity for the business and support sales team in business closure
• Prepare sales collateral, blogs, and other contribution for marketing activities
• Train and mentor team members to groom upcoming leadership that can lead project delivery and support in business growth

Process enhancements:

• Identify opportunities to improve existing business processes
• Provide ideas to the automation team and induce tech-driven components in traditional research

Other Skills:

• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
• Excellent English communication skills: both written and verbal
• Travel experience will be an added advantage

Skill-Set:

Education:

• Masters degree in finance (MBA/M. Com/MA). Candidates with CFA/FRM/CPA are at an advantage

Experience: 10-15 years of experience in fixed income research with at least 5 years in a supervisory and managerial role

Technical Skills:

• Multi-Strategy Credit Expertise: Mastery of fundamental analysis across the Fixed Income spectrum, specifically Investment Grade, High Yield, Leveraged Finance, and Distressed Debt. Must have experience guiding teams on complex capital structure analysis, waterfall modeling, and recovery analysis for distressed assets.
• Specialized Covenant & Indenture Analysis: Ability to supervise high-value niche tasks such as indenture screening, covenant headroom monitoring, and legal document reviews (credit agreements, term sheets) to support risk teams and deal desks.
• Platform Proficiency: Advanced command of Bloomberg, FactSet, Capital IQ, and Refinitiv (Eikon) for data extraction, relative value analysis (bond comps), and market monitoring.

Soft Skills:

• Strategic Leadership & Mentoring: Proven ability to groom upcoming leads, mentor analysts on delivery standards, and manage team dynamics effectively. Capable of providing thought leadership to enhance research offerings and identify new growth areas.
• Client Management & Executive Presence: Exceptional interpersonal skills to manage existing client engagements independently and resolve high-level project issues.
• Business Development Acumen: A commercial mindset with the ability to identify mining opportunities for organic growth and occasionally contribute in solutioning and business closure. Advanced Communication: Superior verbal and written communication skills in English are mandatory, with the ability to create high-quality sales collateral, blogs, and marketing contributions.
• Agility & Innovation: A proactive approach to identifying process improvements and a willingness to embrace and drive change (specifically regarding automation and AI adoption) in a fast-paced environment.
