Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer with 2 to 6 years of experience in IBM Mainframe Utilities CICS VSAM JCL and COBOL. The ideal candidate will work from our office during day shifts and will not be required to travel. This role involves developing maintaining and optimizing mainframe applications to support our business objectives and enhance operational efficiency.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain mainframe applications using IBM Mainframe Utilities CICS VSAM JCL and COBOL.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements for new features and enhancements.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for mainframe applications to ensure smooth operation.
  • Optimize and refactor existing code to improve performance and maintainability.
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure the reliability and stability of applications.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
  • Document technical specifications and user guides for developed applications.
  • Monitor and analyze system performance to identify and address potential issues.
  • Implement security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of software upgrades and migrations.
  • Provide training and support to junior developers and other team members as needed.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the company by delivering high-quality software solutions that meet business needs.

  • Must have strong experience in IBM Mainframe Utilities CICS VSAM JCL and COBOL.
  • Should have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Must possess good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Should have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Nice to have experience with software development lifecycle methodologies.
  • Should be able to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

  • Should have a strong understanding of mainframe architecture and operations.
