Job Description: Associate Finance Manager
Role Summary
The Assistant Finance Manager will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting
operations with a strong focus on revenue reporting, receivables management, cash receipts,
and financial compliance. The role requires ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining
internal controls, monitoring working capital, and supporting audits and tax compliance. The
candidate should be capable of handling end-to-end accounts operations and financial analysis
to support management decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
1. Revenue and Receivables Management
Prepare and monitor revenue reports and receivable ageing reports.
Ensure timely collection and reconciliation of receivables.
Track receivables, discounts, scholarships, and adjustments.
Monitor Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and follow up on overdue payments.
Maintain accurate customer account balances and reconciliations.
2. Cash Receipts and Banking Operations
Manage cash receipts, bank deposits, and daily cash reconciliation.
Monitor inflows and ensure accurate recording of receipts in accounting systems.
Coordinate with banks for transactions, reconciliations, and statements.
Ensure proper documentation and internal control over cash handling.
3. Financial Reporting
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Generate management reports including revenue analysis, variance analysis, and dashboards.
Ensure compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) and internal financial policies.
4. Accounts Management
Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger reconciliations.
Ensure timely processing of invoices, receipts, and accounting entries.
Review reconciliations of bank accounts, ledgers, and customer accounts.
5. Taxation and Statutory Compliance
Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, and other statutory requirements.
Assist in preparation and filing of tax returns.
Support tax reconciliations and respond to notices if required.
6. Cash Flow and Working Capital Management
Monitor daily cash flow and liquidity requirements.
Assist in optimizing working capital and maintaining financial discipline.
Prepare cash flow projections and variance analysis.
7. Audit and Internal Controls
Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation.
Ensure compliance with financial policies and audit recommendations.
Strengthen internal controls and risk management processes.
8. Process Improvement and Automation
Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and reporting systems.
Implement automation in reporting, reconciliation, and compliance tasks.
Improve efficiency and reduce manual work in financial operations.
9. Team and Stakeholder Coordination
Guide junior finance staff and coordinate with other departments.
Liaise with vendors, banks, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
Provide timely financial information for management decisions.
Required Qualifications
CA Inter/CMA/ M Com
58 years of experience in accounts, receivables, and financial reporting
Experience handling revenue accounting, cash receipts, and reconciliations
Key Skills
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
Experience with GST, TDS, and statutory compliance
Expertise in accounts receivable and revenue reconciliation
Advanced Excel and financial reporting skills
Familiarity with ERP/accounting software (Tally, SAP, Zoho, etc.)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and strong internal control mindset
Preferred Experience
Experience in education sector / service industry revenue accounting
Exposure to budgeting, financial planning, and audit support
