Job Description :

Windows L1 - Associate System Engineer

Experience  - 1 to 3 years

ROLE:

On a day-to- day basis, this role will provide technical support for the Shared Services Enterprise platforms.As part of the Shared Services Infrastructure Support team, the candidate will be able to offer a wealth of experience across our Shared Services Windows & VMWare Platforms, with a good knowledge of other traditional Enterprise technologies such as Virtualisation, Networking and Linux. Compliance and patch management is the key for this role.

Position Details:

Responsibilities of the systems technologist will include, but are not limited to, the following areas:

• Windows administration 2008 , 2012 & 2016

• Understanding of Service Management processes like change management, Incident Management, on call rotations, escalations, uptime, etc.

• Participate in OS patch management and coordination.

• Troubleshoot Windows OS and Microsoft application security patch installations.

• Participate in technical discussions in terms of patch management

• Adherence to policies, processes and procedures within your areas of responsibility.

• Implementing and maintaining windows server patches across Enterprise wide infrastructure.

• Ability to successfully manage and maintain current patch levels on servers in an environment distributed across multiple locations using automated Patch Management solutions such as Shavlik ,Tanium, SCCM, WSUS

• Create and maintain reports for patch compliance and system audit data.

• Flexibility to provide off-hour support on a rotational basis

Secondary skills:  Scripting & Automation

Must have one of the below scripting skills along with Windows Knowledge.

• BASH, Perl, Powershell, VB and/or Python scripting

• Basic knowledge of storage concepts: SAN, NAS (CIFS, NFS, iSCSI), S3, EBS

• AWS EC2 experience a plus, including but not limited to:

• Must be self motivated, working well independently or in a group and maintain a positive attitude

• Ability to work under pressure and time constraints

Add-on:

• Knowledge on Patching tools like Shavlik, Tanium, SCCM 

• Strong knowledge of ITIL Process and change coordination skill 

• Knowledge in Automation
