Associate Director, Data Architecture

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Architecture

• Design and maintain enterprise data strategy aligned with business objectives
• Oversee modern data infrastructure: data lakes, warehouses, streaming (Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Kafka)
• Establish data governance frameworks for quality, security, and compliance (GDPR, CCPA)

Marketing & Analytics

• Integrate marketing technology platforms: CDPs, MMM, ProfitSphere
• Enable AI/ML for predictive analytics, personalization, and demand forecasting
• Support commercial analytics tailored to CPG/FMCG industry

Leadership & Collaboration

• Lead and mentor data engineers and analysts through influence
• Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, R&D, and IT
• Provide strategic recommendations to executive leadership
• Manage vendor relationships and tooling evaluations

Technical Execution

• Optimize cloud data flows, storage, and pipelines for performance
• Design data models and integration solutions for large-scale data
• Lead data migration initiatives and manage metadata repositories
• Ensure database and pipeline efficiency with quality tracking and observability

Requirements

Experience

• 18+ years in Information Technology
• 8+ years in data architecture/engineering with large-scale distributed systems
• Strong CPG/FMCG sector knowledge preferred
• Experience with MMM, CDPs, or inventory analytics platforms

Technical Skills

• Expert in cloud platforms: Snowflake, AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Strong SQL development and data modeling expertise
• Proficient in Python, Java, or Scala
• Knowledge of ETL/ELT, data warehousing, and streaming (Kafka)
• Familiarity with TOGAF or similar architecture frameworks
• Understanding of data security and governance best practices

• Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
• Ability to translate technical concepts into business strategies
