Job Description: Associate Director Branding & Communications (MIT-WPU)
Position Summary
As the second-in-command in the Marketing Department, the Associate Director Branding & Communications will work closely with the Director to co-lead the universitys branding, communications, and outreach efforts. This leadership position demands a strategic thinker with deep expertise in brand stewardship, integrated marketing, and multi-channel communications. (Candidates with experience in the education sector will be given preference.)
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Director in formulating and executing long-term and short-term branding strategies to meet institutional goals and elevate brand positioning.
- Oversee and coordinate daily operations and strategic initiatives across branding, design, content, video, social media, and PR, directly interacting with each functional lead or manager.
- Ensure consistency and excellence in all marketing materials, messaging, and campaigns across digital and print platforms.
- Good understanding of content for various collaterals and platforms
- Supervise, mentor, and motivate team members to foster collaboration, innovation, and high performance.
- Collaborate with academic and administrative units to align marketing initiatives with university objectives and ensure compliance with brand standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors, agencies, and media partners to maximize brand reach and campaign impact.
- Assist in the creation and management of the marketing budget as directed by the Marketing Director.
- Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and new technologies relevant to higher education marketing.
- Uphold an inclusive, collaborative, and creative work culture within the department.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in marketing, with a strong emphasis on branding and communications ; experience in the education sector is highly desirable.
- Proven track record in managing cross-functional marketing teams and multi-channel campaigns.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to develop clear and compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing, brand management, content strategy, and performance analytics.
- Effective leadership, organizational, project management, and interpersonal skills.
