Job Description - Akamai SMEAbout the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our security team. In this role, you will leverage your deep knowledge of Akamai solutions including day-to-day operations to support the customers. He/She with expertise in transition and operations activities will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth transitions, operations management, design discussion, consultancy for optimizing the solution.Responsibilities: Lead the transition and collaborate with customers to understand their existing infrastructure, goals, and requirements. Develop a comprehensive transition plan encompassing timelines, resources, and dependencies. Able to understand and document existing configurations ensuring functionality and security. Design and execute comprehensive test plans/playback session/execution of tasks to guarantee operational support can be provided to meet deliverables. Identify and troubleshoot any issues before go-live. Should able to create required runbooks and SOPs. Manage and optimize customer configurations within the Akamai platform. Review customer logs and reports to identify bottlenecks or areas for improvement. Implement changes based on customer needs, performance optimization opportunities, and security best practices. Continuously monitor customer dashboards for security incidents, performance issues, or configuration changes. Analyze threats and proactively notify customers of potential problems. Collaborate with Akamai security teams for advanced threat mitigation. Analyze customer traffic patterns and usage data to pinpoint bottlenecks or areas for improvement. Recommend adjustments to caching strategies, content delivery settings, and security configurations to optimize performance. Monitor the impact of changes and ensure continued optimal performance for the customer's website or application. Generate reports for customers that provide insights into website traffic, security threats, and CDN performance. Help customers understand key metrics and make informed decisions about their security and content delivery strategy. Respond promptly to customer inquiries and troubleshoot technical issues related to the Akamai platform or specific customer configurations. Utilize technical knowledge to diagnose and resolve problems. Escalate complex issues to Akamai support engineers when necessary. Stay up-to-date on the latest Akamai features, functionalities, and best practices. Share knowledge and learnings with colleagues to enhance the team's overall expertise. Continuously improve processes for smoother transitions and more efficient ongoing operations.Qualifications: Minimum 5-8 years of experience in network security and content delivery networks (CDNs), preferably in GCP, Azure and AWS solutions. Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Akamai products and solutions. Proven experience in transitioning, optimization and operations management of Akamai solutions/services. Strong understanding of Akamai product features and functionalities, including KSD, CSI, and Edge DNS. Experience in designing and implementing secure and scalable solutions for web applications. Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues. Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
