Associate Art Cataloguer

Location: Mumbai

As a cataloguer, you will be responsible for cataloguing and conditioning products that are submitted for sale. We are looking for candidates with a degree/diploma and a background or interest in the arts. Prior full or part-time experience working in an art gallery, with a conservator, or museum is desirable, though not essential.We are strictly seeking applicants that are based in Mumbai.

Key Responsibilities

• Cataloguing and researching products submitted for sales
• Physical inspections and condition reports of the products submitted for sales
• Work closely with auction specialists and sales teams
• Follow checklists for products submitted for sales
• Coordinating with departments and locations as required
• Follow and update processes
• Assist with client queries, attending phone calls, and attending to gallery visitors when required

Skills and Experience

• A background in the arts is preferred
• Good interpersonal and communication skills (written and spoken English)
• Ability to organise and manage time
• Ability to work well within a team as well as independently
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
• Computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
• Willing to adjust to long hours, if necessary, particularly during sale deadlines, exhibitions, and auctions
