Job Description
The Associate Business Origination Support is a sales-oriented, pipeline-driven role responsible for supporting overseas offices by identifying, qualifying, and nurturing potential business opportunities across debt and capital markets, with a primary focus on DCMs and ECMs .
This role focuses on lead generation, outreach support, opportunity qualification, and pipeline management , while all client engagement, mandate discussions, and commercial negotiations remain with senior teams in GCC and Asia .
Lead Generation & Outreach Support (Sales-Focused)
- Identify potential clients, counterparties, and financing opportunities through structured research
- Support outbound outreach activities, including:
- Introductory emails
- Follow-ups
- Meeting coordination for overseas teams
- Maintain prospect lists aligned with target sectors, geographies, and deal sizes
- Conduct preliminary qualification of leads based on defined criteria (sector, funding requirement, jurisdiction, timeline)
- Prepare brief opportunity summaries for internal review
- Route qualified opportunities to the relevant overseas office or sector team
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the CRM
- Track lead status, follow-ups, and conversion progress
- Prepare weekly pipeline reports and origination dashboards
- Track market activity related to debt issuances, refinancing, and capital market trends
- Support preparation of:
- Introductory pitch materials
- Capability decks
- Proposal support documents (internal use)
- Coordinate with research, financial analysis, and marketing teams to ensure consistent messaging
- Work closely with overseas teams to understand origination priorities
- Ensure timely handover of qualified opportunities
- Support scheduling and preparation for calls and meetings led by senior teams
Sales & Commercial Skills
- Strong lead generation and prospecting capabilities
- Comfortable with outbound communication (email, LinkedIn, phone coordination)
- Results-oriented with a pipeline-driven mindset
- Ability to qualify opportunities quickly and accurately
- Basic understanding of:
- Debt products
- Capital markets (DCMs / ECMs)
- Corporate financing structures
- Proficiency in CRM systems, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with LinkedIn Sales Navigator and research tools
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Strong follow-up discipline
- Professional communication style
- Ability to work across time zones and under targets
- Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or Commerce
- MBA (Sales / Finance) preferred
- 25 years of experience in:
- Business development support
- Sales support
- Financial services or consulting origination roles
- Exposure to capital markets or debt-focused environments is a strong advantage
