Role Title: Associate Application Developer Analyst

Position Summary:

Participates as a solution team member in coding, testing, analysis, and implementation of business applications. This is the first level position in the Application Development/Analyst job family. Those holding this position are typically assigned to solution teams and participate fully in all team practices and standards. Incumbents are learning relevant technologies. Displays personal accountability for successful outcomes and support quality efforts within the team. Are receptive and responsive to mentoring from more senior team members on business application development, enhancement or support efforts.

Job Responsibilities:

Design:

  • Understands FM's business goals and develops solutions that are aligned with those goals. Starts to learn how to develop technical specifications and participates in design reviews.
  • Reviews documentation at appropriate level to allow for maintenance and extension of the application.


Development:

  • Estimation: Learns how to provide input for estimates and timeframes for requirements and tasks
  • Coding: Gains knowledge and completes assignments in the development, pre-deployment testing, and implementation of business applications or components thereof that meet or exceed the expectations of FM's employees and customers. Participates on small-medium sized business application development/enhancements solutions. Gains understanding and becomes acclimated to using information technology principals, standards, and guidelines to ensure the delivery of high-quality and well-documented solutions and services. Develops technical expertise needed to provide support for systems of low to moderate complexity."
  • Test Automation: Responsible for writing pre-deployment automated tests for own delivered code. Participates in testing and debugging of overall system as required.
  • Support: Supports implementation of applications into production and post-production.


Research:

  • Participates in continuous improvement through training, research, experimentation, knowledge sharing, enterprise initiatives and participation in learning forums.


Skill and Experience:

  • 1 - 2 years of experience required to perform essential job functions.
  • Additional Experience Qualifier (optional): Familiarity with current technologies used in the development of business applications and the techniques used to analyze and solve business problems
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to develop software solutions from technical specifications. Ability to code procedures/programs and complete unit testing in one or more of FM's primary software environments. Strong interpersonal skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team on solutions of varying size showing commitment to task, solution, and to team. Ability to work with team members to understand and translate written requirements and/or requirements into technical solutions. Knows when to involve peers within the organization and/or collaborates with the team to expedite achievement of results


Must Have Skills:

  • Power BI: Experience with designing interactive dashboards, using custom visuals/themes, and applying best practices for effective data presentation.
  • Data Modeling: Experience updating and managing data models, including star and snowflake schemas, and applying normalization/denormalization techniques.
  • DAX and SQL Expertise: Experience writing DAX formulas and SQL queries and understanding of database concepts and relationships.
  • ETL Processes: Experience using Power Query for data transformation, integrating data from sources like SQL, Excel, and APIs, and performing data cleansing.
  • Application Development: Experience maintaining and updating applications inclusive of coding, implementing and testing application features.


Good to have:

  • Familiar with accounting standards , including GAAP and IFRS .


Hands-on experience with financial accounting processes, such as:

  • Journal entries, ledgers, trial balances
  • Adjustment entries and period-end closing procedures
  • Reconciliations and audit controls


Education and Certifications:

  • 4 Year / Bachelors Degree
