Job Summary
We are seeking a Technical Lead with 5 to 8 years of experience in PostgreSQL DB Administration and Oracle Database Administration. The ideal candidate will work in a hybrid model with rotational shifts.
Responsibilities
Maintain the data schema Collaborate with other teams to ensure system components integrate accurately with the data framework Clear understanding of Oracle Database Architecture Experience in exportimport RMAN hot and cold backups and restoration Experience in database patching upgrades and migrations Performance tuning and SQL knowledge for capacity planning and high performance DB configuration Proficient in Linux/Unix commands Excellent written and verbal communication skills Goldengate knowledge is an added advantage Knowledge of other DBs MSSQL MySQL PostgreSQL is an added advantage Scripting knowledge shell Python PowerShell is an added advantage Cloud knowledge AWS Azure GCP is an added advantage Install upgrade and migrate PostgreSQL RDBMS and database clusterware Strong knowledge of database architecture Expertise in high availability and disaster recovery solutions Proactive and reactive database performance optimization Expertise in database backup and recovery design Redesign physical architecture for optimum performance Manage minor and major upgrades Resolve complex incidents affecting highprofile production databases Working knowledge of AWS cloud RDS Manage the complete release cycle from a database perspective Involve in automation and process optimization Document all production changes and standard operations Good knowledge and working experience as a PostgreSQL DBA Experience with public cloud AWS Azure Act as PoC and work closely with the client Respond to escalations handle P1P2 calls troubleshoot issues and provide SME support Willing to attend meetings in USNA region hours Manage shifts with offshore DBAs critical activities and handovers Manage resources for skill-up and grooming as a home-manager Willing for on-call support on weekends - at-least one weekend.
