We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Associate to join a dynamic India Corporate Tax Team.  

Job Summary

As an Associate within India Corporate Tax, you will be a collaborative key team member, responsible for managing tax compliances, assessments, litigation and advisory areas for direct tax, transfer pricing and GST. 

Job responsibilities

  • Ensure Income tax and GST compliances including tax payments, filing returns, tax assessments and managing ligation. 
  • Be responsible for Tax advisory to lines of businesses/support groups 
  • Evaluate tax implications of migration of work from outside India to India 
  • Having knowledge of International tax treaties and transfer pricing, data and documentation requirements. 
  • Keeping track of changes in tax laws/landscape, carry out impact analysis and advice on changes required.
  • Works towards ensuring tax risks are minimized including potential risks, exposure to audits and penalties
  • Represent the firm before tax authorities independently or along with external tax advisors.
  • Work/communicate with external advisors and Tax hub team in Corporate Centre
  • Be responsible for any other direct tax related compliance and advisory responsibilities as may be specified from time to time
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within and outside the India Corporate Centre as required. 
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, including senior management, reginal and global tax team members
  • Identify opportunities for continued process improvement and greater efficiency gains, ensuring consistency across the global Corporate Tax organization
  • Tax accounting including tax provisions/ refunds/ entries/ contingent liability

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • CA with 7-9 years of post-qualification experience in Income Tax and Indirect tax/GST India compliance/Litigation/assessments 
  • Transfer pricing knowledge.
  • Background in financial services sector / global corporate centers 
  • Prior experience of preparing and reviewing work papers with attention to detail
  • Good organization & planning skills 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills 
  • Creative problem solving 
  • Team player with ability work with colleagues in a collaborative manner 
  • Ability to critically challenge with the goal of completing the task
  • Show initiative; be able to work independently yet keep all parties apprised of key issues
  • Ability to work on multiple priorities at the same time
  • Be Proactive
  • Ability to manage a team

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills 

  • Experience of APA (Advance Pricing Agreement), MAP ( Mutual Agreement Procedure) 
  • Proven record of multitasking and doing challenging off domain task/project.
