Assistant Vice President- Taxation

Responsibilities

• Advise on Romanian tax matters (Corporate income tax, VAT, Personal income tax, etc.)
• Support tax compliance process of Genpact affiliates based in Romania and some additional jurisdictions across EMEA (e.g. Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands, Portugal) by data gathering. Communicate with external tax advisors, review draft returns, summarize findings and conclusions
• Collate information for and support the preparation of local transfer pricing reports for Romania and some other EMEA group affiliates
• Support quarterly (10Q) and annual (10K) tax reporting under US GAAP for Romania and some other EMEA jurisdictions, including preparation/review of quarterly and annual tax packs
• Liaise with other functions and stakeholders within the organization (Controllership, HR, Legal, etc.) concerning tax matters and projects
• Support ad-hoc tax projects related to M&A activities, restructuring, intra-group financing, profits repatriation, etc.

Support review of client and vendor agreements from a tax perspective

Support/assistance in obtaining tax residence & other tax certificates, assistance in filing WHT applications to the relevant tax authorities

• Handle inquiries from tax authorities, manage tax audits
• Track and follow up on legislative changes
• Ensure compliance by maintaining and improving tax processes

Minimum Qualifications

• Relevant work experience in taxation
• Good communication skills (in writing and speaking) of English
• Sound knowledge of Romanian tax laws and tax environment

Ability to identify and analyze problems to make logical, fact-based decisions

Openness to new concepts and ideas, willingness to learn and use new procedures and technologies

• Good analytical and numerical skills

• Excellent time management

Professional, emotionally mature and ethical, social skills and ability to work well with a broad range of personality styles and types

Good knowledge of Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in international tax matters is an advantage.
• Prior experience in tax reporting under US GAAP is an advantage.
