We are looking for an experienced Buyer to join our team of professionals in Marine Supply Chain & Category Management in Mumbai, on a fixed term contract. The ideal candidate would look like the below:
Holds a bachelor’s degree at minimum with a procurement background. Experience from Shipping/O&G would be an added plus
Relevant work experience ranging between 3 – 5 years from a reputed organization focused towards Supply Chain
Understands stakeholder management and can build rapport even in challenging situations
Excellent communication skills
Customer focus and service mind set
Preferred a broad knowledge on non- purchasing and logistics subjects, e.g. technical insight, vessel operations, customs rules and regulations in the countries which our vessels trade
Agile behaviour while handling numerous tasks within limited timeframes in a structured manner with an eye for the detail level necessary

Key responsibilities

- Design and align supply chain + category strategy with procurement counterparts
- Design, implement and maintain a logistics network and shipment frequency for a specified geographical area, ensuring timely forwarding of spares to designated vessels
- Performance management of 3rd party logistics provider (3PL)
- Supplier Performance Management (SPM), ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods to warehouse
- Prepare, conduct and follow-up on weekly meetings with Category Managers for respective categories
- Monitor fleet performance data and develop improvement / action plans. Attend meetings with stakeholders to address the same
- Follow Procure to Pay process (PTP) for timely payments to vendors and handle invoices with discrepancies.
- Stakeholder management across technical organizations, different category teams, 3PL partners etc.
- Handle logistics planning and arrangements involving interactions with the 3rd party logistics provider (3PL) & customs house agents (CHAs).
- Ensure optimum utilization of vessel budgets.
- Ability to drive process optimization and SOP creation
- Ensure stakeholders comply with SOPs, contract terms and conditions, and international regulations.
- Always Follow the Maersk’s carbon neutral initiative to minimize the carbon emission in our supply chains.
- Must have the sense of urgency to address all pressing matters with key stakeholders.
