A recognized MBBS degree qualification included in the First Schedule or Second Schedule or Part-II of the Third Schedule ( other than licentiate qualifications ) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956). Holders of educational qualifications included in Part-II of the Third Schedule should also fulfil the conditions specified in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956).

Post-Graduate degree in the concerned speciality or super-speciality mentioned in Section A of Schedule VI from recognized Teaching Institute i.e. Doctor of Medicine or Master of Surgery or Diplomate National Board or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto

Super Specialities (DM/M.Ch./DrNB) : On Completion of DM/MCh/ DrNB in the concerned subject

Eligibility Parameters:

Age: Not exceeding 45 years

Basic Course in Biomedical Research (BCBR) Certification - Should have completed the Basic course in Biomedical Research from Institutions designated by NMC.

RBMET Training Certificate - Should have completed the basic course in Medical Education Technology from Institutions designated by NMC.

Eligibility criteria is subject to amendments as per NMC guidelines - Teachers Eligibility Qualifications in Medical Institutions Regulations, (Amendment), 2023 as per National Medical Commission notification No. C-19011/06/2022/NMC/Coord in reference to notification numbered NMC/MCI-23(I)/2021-MED.

Job Content:-

A urologist is a medical doctor specialising in conditions that affect the urinary system (urinary

tract - bladder, kidneys, ureters, urethra, etc which keeps the body clean by filtering out wastes and toxins and taking them out of the body ) in men, women and children, and diseases that affect the

reproductive system, also the adrenal glands. These conditions range from peeing too much or

too little to being unable to father a child.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Primary responsibilities include clinical activities. This Clinical faculty position will take part in

inpatient settings as well as providing patient care in a professional practice setting ( wherever

applicable ). Specialist medical practitioners (medical doctor) diagnose, treat and prevent illness, disease, injury and other physical and mental impairments in humans, using specialised testing and diagnostic, medical, surgical, physical and psychiatric techniques through application of principles and procedures of modern medicine.They specialise in certain disease categories, types of patient or methods of treatment and may conduct medical education and research in their chosen areas of specialisation.

Clinical Responsibilities

[ Urologist diagnoses and treats diseases and disorders of genitourinary organs and tract. Examines patients, using x-ray machine, fluoroscope, and other equipment to aid in determining nature and extent of disorder or injury. Treats patients, using diathermy machine, catheter, cystoscope, radium emanation tube, and similar equipment. Performs surgery, as indicated. Examine, diagnose within the scope of training, experience, and privileges.

He/she shall (wherever applicable) : be responsible for proper maintenance of the case and filing system in the department. supervise the hospital work being carried out by the residents and other junior faculty members in the department.

Diagnosing and treating diseases and disorders of genitourinary organs and tract, also connected tissues.

Treat patients' disorders related to the reproductive organs, urinary tracts, bladders and kidneys

conducting physical examinations of patients and interviewing them and their families to determine their health status;

Examining patients, using X-ray machines, fluoroscopes and other equipment to determine nature and extent of disorder or injury.

Ordering specialised diagnostic tests to determine the nature of illnesses or disorders;

considering the medical information provided by the referral doctor or any other healthcare provider;

Treating patients using a diathermy machine, catheter, cystoscope, radium emanation tube and similar equipment.

Performing surgeries in the cases required.

Prescribing and administering urinary antiseptics to combat infection; prescribing, administering and monitoring patients responses to treatments, medications, anaesthetics, psychotherapies, physical rehabilitation programmes and other preventive & curative measures;

performing surgery of general or specialised nature;

managing complications

recording patients medical information and exchanging information with other health professionals to ensure the provision of comprehensive care

providing information to patients and families and communities about preventive measures, treatment and care for specific ailments

conducting research into specific human disorders or illnesses and preventive / curative methods and disseminating the findings such as through scientific reports;

planning and participating in programmes designed to prevent the occurrence and spread of specialised diseases

Consulting other specialists to diagnose diseases in case of any doubt

Recommend alternative treatments

When needed, provide pain management treatments

Administer various tests such as computed tomography (CT) scans, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) tests

To provide specialist services in his/her field for OPD / IPD and emergency patients

To carry out specific surgical / medical procedures of his / her speciality; Prescribing and conducting treatment of patients as required, adopting medicinal and surgical methods required to manage the complete treatment plan charted.

Communicate and inform patients or family members

Track patients progress

Communicate / liaise with other healthcare professionals (clinical / non-clinical / paramedical staffs) for ensuring comprehensive care management of a quality treatment being delivered

Adhere to rules and regulations
