Assistant Manager – Assembly (EV)

Job Title: Assistant Manager Assembly EV Dumper Trucks

Role Objective

To lead and manage assembly operations for electric dumper trucks , ensuring safe, high-quality, and on-time production for heavy-duty and mining applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end assembly of EV dumper trucks including chassis, suspension, axles, cabin, dump body, and final vehicle integration.
• Oversee assembly of EV-specific systems : battery packs, e-axle/motor, inverter, DC-DC, onboard charger, HV & LV wiring harnesses.
• Ensure high-voltage safety compliance , lock-out/tag-out, insulation checks, and safe commissioning.
• Drive daily production planning, manpower deployment, and line balancing.
• Coordinate with Quality, R&D, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, and Service teams.
• Support prototype builds, pilot lots, and NPI ramp-up for EV dumper platforms.
• Ensure adherence to mining & off-highway standards , safety norms, and ruggedization requirements.
• Monitor assembly KPIs (FPY, rework, downtime, takt adherence) and drive improvements.
• Implement Lean, 5S, Kaizen, and waste elimination initiatives.
• Train and develop supervisors, technicians, and operators on EV systems and safety.
• Support field issue resolution and feedback incorporation into assembly processes.

Must-Have Skills

• Hands-on experience in heavy commercial vehicle / off-highway assembly .
• Strong understanding of EV systems (battery, motor, inverter, HV architecture).
• Knowledge of HV safety standards and procedures .
• Ability to manage shop-floor teams and production targets .
• Working knowledge of quality tools (PFMEA, Control Plan, SOPs).

Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience in mining or construction equipment assembly.
• Exposure to EV dumper / tipper / truck platforms .
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / TPM / Six Sigma .
• Familiarity with SAP / MES / digital production dashboards .

Education & Experience

• BE / BTech / Diploma Mechanical / Electrical / Automobile / Mechatronics.
• 712 years of assembly experience; EV exposure preferred
