Assistant Manager - Technical
Position Overview The Assistant Manager - Technical provides on-site technical support and facility management services at designated client locations. This role ensures optimal building operations, maintenance coordination, and client satisfaction through proactive technical oversight and problem resolution.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Operations
Support daily building systems operations including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems. Monitor building automation systems and respond to alarms and operational issues. Conduct regular equipment inspections and coordinate preventive maintenance activities. Maintain accurate records of all technical activities, work orders, and system performance data.
Client Interface
Serve as primary technical point of contact for client facility requests and concerns. Respond promptly to tenant service requests and coordinate resolution with appropriate vendors or internal teams. Participate in client meetings and provide technical updates on building performance and planned maintenance activities.
Vendor and Contractor Management
Coordinate and oversee contracted maintenance services and repair work. Review and approve vendor work quality before completion. Manage contractor safety compliance and ensure adherence to site-specific protocols. Process invoices and maintain vendor performance documentation.
Safety and Compliance
Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and client standards. Conduct regular safety inspections and maintain emergency preparedness procedures. Coordinate with security personnel and emergency responders as needed. Support environmental sustainability initiatives and energy efficiency programs.
Administrative Duties
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports. Maintain building documentation including warranties, service contracts, and equipment manuals. Assist with budget preparation and expense tracking. Support special projects and capital improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification preferred. Minimum 3-5 years experience in building operations, facilities management, or related technical field. Knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety. Proficiency with building automation systems and computerized maintenance management systems. Strong customer service and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certifications such as FMP, CEFP, or relevant trade licenses. Experience in commercial real estate or corporate facility management. Knowledge of energy management and sustainability practices. Previous client-facing or vendor management experience.
