Assistant Manager - Platform Planning & Network Design

Job Description:

Position Summary

A seasoned professional with >10 years of experience working in multi-disciplinary Domestic and International projects, with specific expertise in Wireless (Radio), Wired Network - Outside Plant Design, Planning & Engineering, and Rollout. As the Technical and People Manager, you will develop and execute project plans for current and new projects.

Ensures quality of work and that industry guidelines and requirements are met. Develops and maintains departmental processes, metrics, and KPIs. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader and experienced team builder with a proven ability to build, lead, and coach multidisciplinary teams.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Should have experience in Project Management within Wireless domain - Radio Base Station, IoT Kit Installation and Monitoring Patrol faults.

2. Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget. Oversee the day-to-day work of each team within the department, ensuring each team is contributing toward the completion of all active projects.

3. Proactively work with internal and external stakeholders to identify future growth areas and capacity needs, leading the development of near- and long-term engineering project plans and construction cost estimates for customer projects

4. Plan, organize, and monitor the overall program objectives for the department. Utilize KPIs and metrics to monitor the performance of teams to ensure all deliverables are completed efficiently and as scheduled.

5. Works closely with senior management and internal business partners to align the functional initiatives with the overall company needs and business objectives.

6. Prepare and monitor the progress of annual Capital and Operating budgets.

7. Responsible for communicating organizational information through regular team meetings, one-on-one meetings, and appropriate written and interpersonal communication

8. Design outside plant network infrastructure which is cost-effective, fit-for-purpose, and future-proof for Backhaul network and Enterprise customers

9. Leading all Outside plant design activities and providing technical expertise on all aspects of Fibre design and planning

10. Assist with pre-sales activities focused on passive fiber network design and deployment projects

11. Drive operational readiness activities

12. Liaising with customers and partners for enabling delivery capability

13. Manage internal and third-party teams to produce high-quality designs of HFC, FTTX, and B2B networks for underground and aerial networks

14. Manage project demand and resources

15. Responsible for new build, customer connections, network upgrades, diversionary works, and customized solutions, Upgrade, IoT Kit Installation.

16. Continued driving of improvement in costs, timescales, and quality

17. To produce detailed industry-standard documentation of the design HLD, LLD and As-built and update on Inventory Management Systems

18. Demonstrated ability to communicate with Sales, Strategy, and cross-functional teams to collate business inputs and translate them into functional inputs to rollout network

19. To assist the business development team in pre-sales activities focused on Fibre network design and deployment projects.

20. Design of the telecommunications industry and its practices/standards regarding the Fibre construction costs to build an optical network

21. Must have skills in defining, evaluating, solving, and presenting alternatives to complex engineering problems and in applying engineering and economic principles while conducting studies and surveys to analyze a technical system or design

22. Drive consistency, quality, suitability, and cost-effectiveness in the design delivery which should meet client-specific SLAs and KPIs

23. Produce reports on quality assurance and projects for internal and client governance

24. Proposes, documents maintains and implements continual process improvements which lead to benefits for the client and TCTS

25. Complete performance reviews for team members on a monthly and quarterly basis and provides ongoing coaching on performance and building capability.

26. Assesses internal training needs and identifies training opportunities to ensure effective performance

27. Responsible for People Management including hiring, onboarding, leading, developing, training, and mentoring team members

Qualifications:

1. Graduate in Engineering or relevant background

2. Proficient in MS Office Suite with good skills in Power Point, Power BI and Excel

3. Knowledge in Lean Six Sigma Green Belt & Project Management would be an added advantage.

4. Small world PNI & PRM or GIS Experience would be an added advantage.
