Job Description

Job Summary

The Assistant Manager Accounts & Finance will be responsible for managing accounting

operations, statutory compliance, financial reporting, and supporting audit and budgeting

processes. The role also involves overseeing inventory accounting, cost control, and

ensuring financial discipline across manufacturing and operational activities.


Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

Manage day-to-day accounting operations in Tally/ERP, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Review and post journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and inter-company transactions.

Oversee accounts payable and receivable, vendor management, and employee reimbursements.

Ensure proper accounting for fixed assets, depreciation, and capitalization.


2. Inventory & Cost Management

Oversee and reconcile inventory records in coordination with the store and production teams.

Ensure accurate valuation of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods as per accounting standards.

Monitor material consumption, wastage, and stock variances.

Support periodic physical verification of stock and reconciliation with book records.

Assist in the preparation of cost sheets, standard costing, and variance analysis.

Coordinate with production, logistics, and procurement teams to ensure control over material movement.


3. Financial Reporting & MIS

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow).

Generate MIS reports covering production cost analysis, profitability, and financial KPIs.

Support management with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Assist in preparing board reports and management presentations.


4. Statutory Compliance

Ensure timely filing of GST, TDS, PF, PT, and other statutory returns.

Handle reconciliations between GSTR-2B and books and ensure input credit accuracy.

Coordinate for income tax, GST, and other audits and assessments.

Maintain statutory compliance calendar and ensure all deadlines are met.


5. Audit & Finalization

Assist in statutory, tax, and internal audits, including preparation of audit schedules and reconciliations.

Support finalization of accounts as per Ind AS/IGAAP and coordinate with external auditors.

Ensure implementation of auditor recommendations and strengthen internal controls.

6. Treasury & Fund Management

Monitor daily fund flow and ensure timely vendor and statutory payments.

Prepare cash flow forecasts and coordinate with banks for transactions and loan documentation.

Maintain working capital efficiency and compliance with banking covenants.


7. Process Improvement & Controls

Drive automation in routine finance processes using Excel Macros or ERP enhancements.

Support implementation of better cost controls and internal financial checks.

Maintain proper documentation for all financial and inventory transactions.


Qualifications & Experience

Education: Chartered Accountant.

Experience: 25 years of experience in accounting, finance, and inventory management within a manufacturing company.

ERP Exposure: Experience in Tally Prime or similar ERP systems preferred. Key Skills

Strong understanding of accounting principles and Ind AS/IGAAP.

Knowledge of inventory accounting, costing, and stock reconciliation.

Proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, MIS automation preferred).

Working knowledge of GST, TDS, and Income Tax compliance.

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
