Job Description
Assistant Manager - Electrical
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate engineering work packages with respect to choice of technologies and technical configurations.
- Oversee all aspects and documentation of contractual negotiations during Business Development of all Technical-related agreements: EPC, EPCM, PPA, OE, LTSA, etc.
- Prepare a variety of complex engineering deliverables for multiple projects.
- Conduct complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles.
- Knowledge of various IS, IEC, and IEEE standards related to the Engineering deliverables.
- Prepare and review various engineering design work.
- Prepare and review Solar PV Layouts, SLD (DC & AC side), engineering calculations like earthing, cable sizing, battery sizing, trench layouts, and review of OEM vendors drawings (GTP, GA & QAP), SCADA documents, Sub-station part, etc.
- Work closely with the procurement and construction team in line with the procurement strategies and construction strategies.
- Draft/contribute to and negotiate owner specifications, incorporating the latest group experience and standards.
- Prepare BOQ & comparison for the Project (Pre-Bid/Post-Bid) coordinating with BD, O&M & other departments input.
- Conduct factory visits for evaluating different OEMs for major equipment.
- Perform site visits for upcoming and ongoing projects.
- Prepare SOPs and Checklists for the methodology followed for various processes.
- Contribute to interface with Lender's Engineer and support Lenders due diligence.
- Manage the internal approval process (O&M and Technical).
- Support Construction Managers of Project Companies or Plant Managers of O&M Companies for punctual problems during construction, commissioning phase, and during operations.
- Actively coordinate with all other internal and external team members on multiple projects.
- Perform technology watch and share knowledge within the ETSG team.
Qualifications
- Degree in an engineering discipline, bachelors or masters.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the power generation sector with specific knowledge, expertise, and experience in developing or designing/reviewing solar PV projects (Experience in Wind project would be an added advantage).
Required Skills
- Evaluate and perform feasibility studies.
- Conduct technology configurations.
- Determine construction strategies and operating philosophies.
- Evaluate conceptual designs and knowledge of AutoCad.
- Perform techno-economic cost analyses for the full lifecycle of a project.
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and contractual agreements.
- Manage and advise transversally on all technical aspects of a project from cradle to grave.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a project management/technical coordination function/technical on solar PV projects.
- Formal training in project management is strongly desirable.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge in other renewable technologies such as BESS and Wind would be advantageous.
- Handling multidisciplinary projects are considered strong assets.
- A basic understanding of HV/MV/LV (DC & AC) electrical systems, including international practices on grid connection for centralized energy projects, as well as electrical system integration & optimization for industrial customers.
