Assistant Manager – Bought Out (Purchase)

The Assistant Manager Bought Out (Purchase) will be responsible for managing procurement activities related to bought-out items, ensuring timely availability of materials at optimal cost while maintaining quality standards. The role involves vendor development, negotiation, order execution, and coordination with internal stakeholders to support uninterrupted production and project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Handle end-to-end procurement of bought-out items such as castings, forgings, fabricated parts, standard engineering items, and consumables.
• Develop, evaluate, and maintain a reliable vendor base in line with company quality and cost objectives.
• Prepare and process RFQs, price comparisons, negotiations, and finalization of purchase orders.
• Ensure timely material availability as per production and project schedules.
• Coordinate closely with Production, Quality, Stores, and Planning teams to align procurement activities.
• Monitor supplier performance on delivery, quality, and cost competitiveness.
• Ensure compliance with commercial terms, statutory requirements, and company procurement policies.
• Handle rate contracts, cost reduction initiatives, and alternate vendor development.
• Track and manage open POs, follow-ups, shortages, and escalations.
• Support inventory control, optimization, and reduction of non-moving/slow-moving items.
• Maintain proper documentation and MIS reports related to purchase activities.
• Assist during audits and vendor assessments as required.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering / Diploma in Mechanical / Supply Chain / Procurement (preferred).

Experience:

• 58 years of relevant experience in Bought Out Purchase within an engineering/manufacturing environment.

Industry Preference: Engineering, EPC, Heavy Manufacturing, Infrastructure, or Industrial Products.
