Assistant Lab Manager

The Technical Manager of MPPL-Lab is the guardian of the technical requirements of Mechanical lab along with Quality Management System (QMS) and Quality Manual/ Quality Procedure Manual as a role of Dy. Quality Manager. The QM/Dy. QM carries overall accountability for the compliance of all operations, processes and personnel to the QMS as required for adherence to ISO/IEC 17025.

Major responsibilities:

Technical duties

• Responsibilities with respect to planning, performing tests and evaluation of results
• To ensure deployment of appropriate methods for testing services offered by the laboratory.
• Is responsible for analysis, report preparation and timely delivery of the same to the respective customers.
• Responsibilities with respect to method modification, development and validation of new methods related to mechanical/ Metallurgical testing activities.

Managerial duties

• Is responsible for review of requests received from the customers by maintaining confidentiality.
• To participate in supplier selection process and approval of purchase of consumables for the department.
• To control stores inventory of testing department along with Machine shop.
• To technically initiate & support the machine shop activities as per the requirement of Testing/ Proficiency testing / CRMD functions.
• To implement corrective and preventive actions in the testing department.
• To identify the training needs of personnel working in the laboratory.
• Is responsible for maintains suitable environmental conditions & overall safety aspects of laboratory activities.

To manage the quality assurance/control activities and implement quality control procedures related to ISO/IEC 17025.

BE Metallurgy/ Mechanical

3-5 years
