Job Description
Position Overview
The key role is integral to support the General Manager, Finance for India in handling corporate accounting, managing the vendor invoice and customer billing processes and fostering Wallem Group transformation initiatives
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Ensure correct computation and timely payments of Direct Tax (Corporate Tax/Transfer Pricing/Withholding Taxes including Advance Tax) and Goods and Services Tax
- File the Corporate Income Tax/Withholding Tax Returns and the related documents on a timely basis
- Support the requirement of Transfer Pricing from documentation and reporting point of view
- Handle all the other local tax-related filing processes for the entities, including Goods and Services Tax and any other indirect taxes
- Provide professional advice for any local related tax matters/enquiries
- Ensure compliance with the Group and the local accounting standards and policies. A subject matter expert in accounting standards, both at management reporting and statutory levels
- Ensure robust end to end accounting process to support timely, accurate, and compliant statutory & management reporting (Profit/Loss, Balance Sheet, etc.) including quarterly Balance Sheet Reviews, account reconciliations and financial risk management withing the agreed timeline / schedules
- Prepare Financial Statements, Year-end Reporting Pack/Quarter-end Reporting Pack, monthly financial analysis & review with respective business leaders
- Support in Fixed Asset Register maintenance and monthly migration of transactions between Indian Books and Group Books
- Support the country level Budget/Forecast
- Perform comprehensive variance analysis to identify the reasons for each significant variance
- Support in providing GL information and details including expenses and income analysis by function and variance vs budget or rolling forecasts
- Track the business performance and ensure the rolling forecast is properly delivered
- Monitor company's cash flow (in and out) and assist in cash flow planning.
- Oversee the vessel disbursement account process
- Check and reconcile vessel disbursement accounts before approval and uploading
- Check bank payment vouchers and verify online payments
- Oversee the vendor invoice process, make sure all vendor invoices are captured and approved in Eye-share timely
- Other duties assigned
Qualifications
- Qualified Chartered Accountant preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Tax & Financial Reporting. Experience in MNC's would be an added advantage
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills
- Familiarity with the maritime industry or related sectors is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
