The Assistant Compliance Manager for STPI & SEZ will support the Compliance Manager in ensuring adherence to all regulations and policies related to Software Technology Parks of India and Special Economic Zones. This role is crucial in maintaining compliance with Indian government regulations, export-import norms, and specific STPI and SEZ guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing and implementing compliance policies specific to STPI and SEZ operations
• Monitor and ensure compliance with STPI and SEZ regulations, including export obligations, foreign exchange norms, and customs regulations
• Support the preparation and submission of periodic reports to STPI and SEZ authorities
• Help coordinate internal and external audits related to STPI and SEZ compliance
• Assist in maintaining proper documentation for duty-free imports, exports, and other STPI/SEZ-related transactions
• Support the team in obtaining and renewing necessary STPI and SEZ licenses and permissions
• Help conduct training sessions for employees on STPI and SEZ compliance requirements
• Assist in managing relationships with STPI and SEZ authorities
• Monitor changes in STPI and SEZ regulations and update internal policies accordingly
• Support the process of availing tax benefits and exemptions under STPI and SEZ schemes
• Help in resolving compliance-related queries from various departments
• Assist in preparing for and responding to government inspections
• Filing of reports, returns, and applications & approvals for SEZ/STPI
• Setting up new/expansions units, execution of BLUT, SEZ portal administration for the units, registration process
• Coordination with SEZ / STPI office
• SOFTEX-FIRC Reco -Collection of FIRC (Foreign Inward Remittance Certificate) from Finance/Bank and map it with respective Export Invoice in ICEGATE
• Drive 100% compliance on approvals for commencement of relevant activities or operations in each site.
• Managing Freight Forwarder’s (FF’s) and Customs House Agents (CHA’s) – review of SLA’s on Quarterly Basis, managing purchase orders, invoice processing of FF’s and CHA’s.
• Managing end-to-end process of scrap clearance, e-waste management in line with process (if the goods are duty free – imported/GST exemption)
• Managing end-end-end process for Domestic Tariff Area Sale and Sub-Contract work of SEZ Unit
• De-Bonding/DTA Sale of Capital Goods
• Work with audit and inspections team (Internal/External) on STPI/SEZ matters, while making sure there is no impact to routine operations
• Timely and efficiently inform and provide specific guidelines to relevant Amazon businesses on regulatory, operational and compliance changes
• Managing complete process of Exit from STPI or SEZ scheme/unit (if any)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Law, or a related field
• 2-4 years of experience in compliance, preferably with exposure to STPI or SEZ regulations
• Strong knowledge of Indian export-import laws, foreign exchange regulations, and customs procedures
• Familiarity with IT/ITES industry norms and practices
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and compliance management software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in a relevant field
• Professional certifications such as Certified Export Import Specialist
• Experience in dealing with DGFT (Directorate General of Foreign Trade) regulations
• Knowledge of GST implications for STPI and SEZ units
• Familiarity with software used for export documentation and compliance reporting
