AS400 Batch Operator

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled AS/400 Batch Operator to join our operations team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, managing, and ensuring the smooth execution of batch processing jobs on our AS/400 system in a 24x7 environment.

Responsibilities: Run batch jobs on the AS400/windows/linux platforms Execute job procedure instructions as per the daily checklist. Assist Support team on the batch job issues and system recovery Execute jobs based on priority and specific time required and update checklist. Monitor system console for messages and machine utilization Interrupt jobs to change priorities or abort processing. Perform system backup & IPL/re-start Escalate, detected alerts to application/Support team Submit, rerun, hold, and cancel jobs via Robot scheduler and IBM BRMS Console Update Incident tickets and operation logs Complete daily/Weekly/Monthly checklist tasks with handover to the next shift staff Support/Rotate with 3 shifts per 24 hours. May work additional x2 shifts per 4-weeks, which would be claimed as off-in-lieu

Requirements

: At least 2 years of working experience in relevant work area Work on shift based support structure spanning 24x7 Experience in operating for IBMi & Open systems (Unix and Windows) platforms. Proficient in using MS Office Suite of products, Servicenow, and File transfer tools. Use ROBOT scheduler & replays on the IBMi systems. Use of Jenkins tool for automation Good communication and interpersonal skills and proficient in English Language Proven ability to work independently and under pressure. Certification in IBM iSeries (AS/400) Operations. Experience with job scheduling tools such as IBM Job Scheduler. Familiarity with AS/400 system monitoring and performance tuning. Understanding of ITIL or similar IT service management frameworks.
