Job Summary
The Art Director plays a pivotal role in shaping the visual identity and creative direction of projects within a creative production company. From concept to execution, the Art Director ensures that every project whether a film, digital campaign, or branded content piece reflects the highest standards of creativity, aesthetics, and brand alignment.
This role bridges creative ideation and production, bringing visual storytelling to life through design direction, set aesthetics, and visual cohesion across media formats.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the visual development and art direction for films, digital content, and brand campaigns.
Collaborate with the Creative Director, Copywriter, and Production team to conceptualize and execute ideas.
Define the visual language, color palette, style, and tone of projects.
Create and oversee storyboards, style frames, visual treatments, and design layouts for client pitches and production decks.
Work closely with Directors, DOPs, and Production Designers to ensure consistent visual storytelling during shoots and post-production.
Supervise designers, illustrators, and visualisers, ensuring timely delivery and creative excellence.
Provide on-set art direction where needed overseeing props, set styling, and visual elements that impact the final frame.
Ensure that all visuals align with brand guidelines while maintaining innovation and originality.
Collaborate with editors and motion designers during post-production to maintain the intended visual tone.
Stay updated on design, film, and content trends, introducing fresh creative ideas and visual techniques.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors degree in Fine Arts, Design, Visual Communication, or related creative field.
58 years of experience in art direction, visual design, or creative leadership within a creative production company, ad agency, or content studio.
Strong portfolio demonstrating visual storytelling, campaign art direction, and production design work.
Skills and Competencies:
Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After E ects).
Strong understanding of composition, lighting, set design, and visual continuity.
Ability to visualize and communicate complex creative ideas e ectively.
Skilled at interpreting scripts and translating them into strong visual directions.
Excellent communication, leadership, and presentation skills.
Ability to balance creativity with production practicality and deadlines.
Collaborative mindset, with the ability to inspire and guide cross-functional teams.
