Job Description

Job Title: Area Sales Executive (ASE) Modern Trade & General Trade

Location: Gujarat

Reporting To: Area Sales Manager

Role Purpose:

To achieve sales targets and market execution objectives in assigned Modern Trade (MT) and General Trade (GT) outlets by driving product availability, visibility, and effective trade activation, ensuring strong market presence and business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Target Achievement

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for assigned MT chains and GT distributors/outlets.
  • Ensure product-wise and SKU-wise sales targets are met.

Market Coverage & Execution

  • Regularly visit assigned GT outlets to build strong retailer relationships and ensure availability and visibility.
  • Ensure coverage of all assigned MT outlets as per PJP (Permanent Journey Plan).

Modern Trade Management

  • Handle store-level execution, stock replenishment, planogram adherence, and promotions in MT stores.
  • Coordinate with MT store managers and merchandisers to resolve issues related to OOS (Out Of Stock) and supply chain.

Distributor & Retailer Management (GT)

  • Handle GT distributor operations order taking, stock planning, payment follow-ups, and claim settlement.
  • Drive schemes and promotions effectively at retail counters.

Merchandising & Visibility

  • Ensure proper execution of planograms, secondary displays, POSM deployment, and branding activities in both MT & GT.
  • Identify visibility opportunities in key outlets.

Market Intelligence

  • Track competitor activities, schemes, pricing, and share timely insights with reporting manager.

Promoter Management

  • Supervise promoters (if assigned) in MT & GT stores for discipline, grooming, and daily sales performance.

Reporting

  • Maintain and submit daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports, beat plans, and competitor updates accurately.

Key Requirements:

Education: Graduate in any discipline.

Experience: 1-3 years in FMCG sales handling GT or MT; candidates with exposure to both channels preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong communication & negotiation skills.
  • Relationship management with trade partners.
  • Problem-solving ability for market issues.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and sales reporting apps.
