Project Role : Application Support Engineer
Project Role Description : Act as software detectives, provide a dynamic service identifying and solving issues within multiple components of critical business systems.
Must have skills : IBM DB2 Database Administration
Good to have skills : Cloud Infrastructure, Linux, DB2 Mainframe
Minimum 7.5 year(s) of experience is required
Educational Qualification : 15 Years of full time education
Role Description :Act as the ongoing interface between the client and the system or application. Dedicated to quality, using exceptional communication skills to keep our world class systems running. Can accurately define a client issue and can interpret and design a resolution based on deep product knowledge. Must Have Skills :Minimum 10 Years Exp. in DB2 Mainframe Database Administration, Knowledge on Linux, IBM systems tools Experience with IBM DB2 on Unix (AIX,Solaris,HP-UX, Linux) is essential Good To Have Skills :Cloud Knowledge (Azure/AWS/GCP) Key Responsibilities : Provide ongoing technical support and maintenance of production and development database systems within a defined operating model and processes Provide L2/L3 software support and implement technology at the operating system-level across all server, and for particular software solutions/vendors/brands. Design and implementation of relational databases at an enterprise level. Production support for all DB2 related applications on 24X7 basis Provides full range of production DB2 support for all mission critical databases. Database performance monitoring, tunning, and capacity planning. Backup planning and recovery. Object creation/alteration and granting access. Object / Data Migration from one db2 subsystem to another. Running offline /Online utilities for data maintenance. Doing BIND/REBIND for new / existing applications Planning for VSAM to DB2 conversion. Data Modeling and implementation for database design. Resync of Subsystems on two different machines. Supporting and administer db2 queue replication between DB2 Z/OS and distributed environments. Testing zparms features and optimizing suggestions to DBMS group for implementation. Exposure to SMP/E for migrating from db2 V7 to V8 and installation New instance creation for DB2 Z/OS. Db2 disaster recovery verification and testing. Plan, implement and migrate z/OS workload to new data center (EC12) with geographic failover functionality for disaster recovery. Setting up of IBM Trace to monitor the threads /Jobs. Security Management using RACF - profile creation, Access permission & restrictions.. Modification of system-level configuration to optimize performance. Consultation with system administrator regarding O/S - DBMS requirements. Maintenance of physical integrity of all production databases. Monitoring errors Stay current with new database technology developments and techniques, research new software and tools, proactively recommend improvements Professional Attributes : Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment Should be able to initial level of trouble shootings Experience must have been gained in a production environment Educational Qualification : As per Accenture Standard Additional Information : Knowledge on ITIL standard and best practices take part in 24x7 Shift Rotations
