Summary: As an Application Lead, you will lead the effort to design, build, and configure applications, acting as the primary point of contact. You will be responsible for managing the team and ensuring successful project delivery. Your typical day will involve collaborating with multiple teams, making key decisions, and providing solutions to problems for your immediate team and across multiple teams. Roles & Responsibilities: - Expected to be an SME - Collaborate and manage the team to perform - Responsible for team decisions - Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions - Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams - Lead the effort to design, build, and configure applications - Act as the primary point of contact - Manage the team and ensure successful project delivery Professional & Technical Skills: - Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in IBM DB2 Database Administration - Good To Have Skills: Experience with cloud technologies - Strong understanding of database administration principles - Experience in performance tuning and optimization of database systems - Knowledge of backup and recovery strategies for databases - Familiarity with database security best practices Additional Information: - The candidate should have a minimum of 7.5 years of experience in IBM DB2 Database Administration - This position is based at our Bengaluru office - A 15 years full-time education is required Must have Skills: Phyical Database Administration Support utility address space monitoring and automation (MEMUSAGE, WLM, ...) Define, setup, maintain (tuning), and monitor Workload Manager Maintain Db2 pureScale and related supporting Independent Software Vendor products (e.g.: DMC, DBI, Quest, SQL Developer, etc.) Db2 LUW memory utilization monitoring and alerting (e.g.: DMC, DBI) Thread monitoring and governance (ad-Hoc, business objects, long-running transactions) DBM/DB configuration and administration (database manager configuration parameters) Architect and build out new pureScale cluster environments as necessary (incl. GPFS) Build and support any scripts (shell, Python, Pearl, Rexx, Java, etc.) necessary to maintain the database environment maintenance and management of Db2 LUW and HADR related files (e.g.: directories, file systems, storage, server configuration file, kernel parameters) supporting application and logical DBA maintenance requirements (e.g.: grants, binds) maintaining and building information and process documentation using s Purple Doc standards utilizing Master Library, SharePoint Logical database administration activities Perform Db2 object maintenance and creation consistent with standards Provide performance tuning and I/O design services Support JDBC connection pooling and data source management Adhere to Db2 OS group roles and patterns as per Client's requirement Adhere to Db2 Hardening Guide as per Client's requirement Support of GPFS/Spectrum Scale shared file system Build and support any scripts (shell, Python, Pearl, Rexx, Java, etc.) necessary to maintain the database environment application and SQL tuning supporting application ID and role management managing security and auditing controls backup, recovery and retention of Db2 LUW data Good to Have: 1 Good to have DB2 administration certification 2 Good to have knowledge in automation tools such as Control-M. 3 Knowledge on any other database technologies (MSSQL, ORACLE, Postgre,Redis and DataStax) Job Responsibilities: 1 Provide 24 x 7 Support to Critical production systems. 2 Installation, upgrades, and maintenance of DB2 and its associated peripheral sub- system products 3 In depth knowledge of the DB2 LUW architecture of EE. 4 Perform routine maintenance on several database environments including application of updates, patches, and hotfixes 5 Creating databases, migrating database objects from non-production to production environment. 6 Working knowledge of Database Security mechanism, data encryption, obfuscation, auditing using tools. 7 Extensive experience designing and executing backup and recovery concepts and procedures 8 Measure database performance and troubleshoot complex database issues, I/O bottlenecks, SQL Tuning
