About the Team and the Role

The Cloud Platform team at Ather is responsible for building the future of smart, connected electric vehicles by managing the massive data streams generated by the fleet and powering intelligent features through scalable backend systems.

This role is for an Application Developer who will act as the critical link in operationalizing AI. You will focus on "stitching" models and data sources together to design robust backend systems that orchestrate multi-step AI processes and build intelligent agents, serving as reliable capabilities for the entire organization.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain efficient, reusable Python code for AI-driven backend services and RESTful APIs using FastAPI or Flask.

• Develop agentic applications and complex, multi-step LLM-powered workflows using effective prompt engineering strategies.

• Integrate modern Python frameworks like LangChain and LangGraph to orchestrate models, tools, and data sources.

• Collaborate with Tech Leads and Data Scientists to operationalize model inputs and outputs into production-ready services.

• Support the operational health of AI services by troubleshooting and resolving production incidents.

• Utilize AI-specific observability tools like LangSmith or Langfuse to trace and debug agent behavior.

• Maintain high code quality through testing with pytest and participating in peer code reviews.

• Ensure adherence to best practices throughout the entire software development lifecycle for cloud-native applications.

Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• 2-5 years of professional software development experience, focusing on cloud-native, data-intensive applications.

Must Have Competencies

• Demonstrate advanced proficiency in the Python ecosystem for building robust backend services and RESTful APIs.

• Possess expertise in designing and implementing distributed systems with event-driven architecture using Kafka or RabbitMQ.

• Exhibit advanced experience with microservices architecture and managing diverse SQL and NoSQL databases.

• Apply advanced capability in designing and maintaining complex LLM-powered workflows and agentic applications.

Good to have Competencies

• Possess hands-on experience with LLM orchestration frameworks such as LangChain or LangGraph.

• Maintain familiarity with vector databases including Pinecone, Chroma, or Weaviate for AI applications.

• Demonstrate knowledge of LLM observability platforms like LangSmith or Langfuse for tracing and debugging.

• Utilize experience with cloud-native containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
