Summary: As an Application Developer, you will design, build, and configure applications to meet business process and application requirements. You will be responsible for ensuring that the applications are developed according to specifications and delivered on time. Your typical day will involve collaborating with the team to understand the requirements, designing and coding the applications, and testing and debugging them to ensure they function properly. Additionally, you will also provide support and maintenance for the applications as needed, ensuring their smooth operation. Roles & Responsibilities: - Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform. - Responsible for team decisions. - Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions. - Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams. - Design, build, and configure applications to meet business process and application requirements. - Collaborate with the team to understand the requirements and translate them into technical specifications. - Code and test applications to ensure they function properly and meet the specified requirements. - Debug and fix any issues or bugs in the applications. - Provide support and maintenance for the applications, ensuring their smooth operation. - Stay updated with the latest technologies and trends in application development. - Contribute to the continuous improvement of the development process and best practices. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of applications. - Document the design, development, and testing processes for future reference. - Train and mentor junior developers to enhance their skills and knowledge. Professional & Technical Skills: - Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in COBOL. - Strong understanding of software development principles and methodologies. - Experience in designing and building applications to meet business requirements. - Knowledge of database management systems and SQL. - Familiarity with version control systems and code repositories. - Good To Have Skills: Experience with mainframe technologies such as JCL and VSAM. - Experience in working with COBOL-based legacy systems. - Knowledge of agile development methodologies. - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. - Strong communication and collaboration abilities. Additional Information: - The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in COBOL. - This position is based at our Mumbai office. - A Bachelor of Science degree is required.
