Position: API Test Automation (Selenium, BDD)

Experience: 5 to 8 years

Job Description

The primary responsibility of the role is to work on software testing related requirements received by various business teams. This involves working on ad hoc enhancements to the existing systems and also testing new software functionality based on inputs received from IAM strategy team. Role requires the individual to be self-driven, able to work with minimal guidance and supervision, collaborate with the development team members who are spread across the geographic locations to help the team the delivery commitments. Good communications skills are essential as day-to-day work is discussed as part of the team scrum meetings over the call. Must be able to work in shifts when required and deliver well under pressure against targets set. Maintain and exceed existing SLAs and always ensure compliance to HSBC policies. Actively participate in achieving organizational efficiency objectives and undertake analysis on day-to-day work to drive automation on deliveries thereby reducing repetitive and standardized tasks/processes.

Requirements

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications (For the role not the role holder. Minimum requirements of the role.) 2+ Years of software testing experience with focus on below skills

• Mandatory:
• Hands on experience on Core Java, Maven, GIT, JIRA, Jenkins.
• Good Understanding of REST API types (GET, PUT, POST, DELETE).
• Working knowledge on Testing Automation for APIs and UIs.
• Good understanding of Message Schema, RAML, Message Request-Response mechanism.
• Testing Tools Selenium, Quality Centre, JIRA.
• Hands on experience on Cucumber, BDD methodology, Gherkin syntax
• Write and review range of testing documentation.
• Coordinate testing tasks for specific projects, progress issues and escalate where necessary.
• Regularly review testing processes in order to identify ways to improve efficiency.
• Coordinate actively with the other testers on multiple projects and provide support/coaching.
• Adoption and use of testing standards and processes
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to document complex test cases and issues.
• Good evaluation and analysis skills, awareness of importance of defects found during testing, based on impact and priority.

Desired:

• Knowledge on MS Excel.
• Agile methodology.
• Good knowledge and experience of the software testing process.
• Understanding of any API testing tools like POSTMAN, Rest Client, Anypoint etc.
• Understanding of STUB/Service virtualization.
• Been able to understand Retail Banking functions/requirements.
• A strong team player who is highly collaborative recognizing their specialized role in the department and acknowledging other areas and individual roles and responsibilities.
• Enthusiastic and self-motivated, Innovative thinker having the ability to approach things differently or do different things.

TCS Eligibility Criteria:*BE/B.tech/MCA/M.Sc./MS with minimum 3 years of relevant IT-experience post
