Job Title: API Automation Tester
Experience Required: 5 to 8 Years
Location: Pune
Employment Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop and execute API automation test scripts using industry-standard tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured, Karate, SOAP UI etc.)
Analyze functional and technical requirements and convert them into test scenarios & automation suites.
Validate API request/response, schema, status codes, authentication, and data integrity.
Integrate automation scripts with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins / GitLab / Azure DevOps).
Prepare and manage test data, test cases, execution reports and defect logs.
Work closely with developers, BAs, and DevOps teams in an Agile environment.
Ensure performance, security, and regression testing coverage for APIs.
Required Skills
Strong hands-on experience in API Automation (REST/SOAP).
Proficiency with Java / Python / JavaScript (anyone must).
Experience using Rest Assured / Postman / Karate / SoapUI automation frameworks.
Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Git, Azure DevOps.
Knowledge of JSON, XML, SQL, OAuth2/JWT Authentication.
Experience working in BFSI domain (mandatory/preferred for HSBC).
Nice to Have
Knowledge of BDD frameworks (Cucumber, JBehave)
Exposure to cloud-based testing / microservices
Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Agile/Scrum methodologies
Education
Bachelor’s degree in computer science / IT / Engineering or equivalent.
