ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a talented, passionate, curious, dedicated, and skilled Anti Money Laundering (AML) Analyst to join our team. As an AML Analyst, you will assume responsibility to lead and manage the AML Programme for the Issuing (Prepaid Instruments) and Payment (Payment Aggregator) businesses.


ROLE PURPOSE

The AML Analyst will be responsible for managing the AML Programme across transaction monitoring, watchlist screening, investigations, regulatory reporting, risk assessment, and AML system optimisation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

AML Programme Management

  • Develop, implement and maintain a robust Anti Money Laundering Programme in terms of system, people and processes.
  • Lead and supervise AML team to support AML Transaction Monitoring and AML Watchlist screening for the Prepaid and Payment Aggregator business.
  • Ensure risk events generated by automated AML monitoring system are duly reviewed to identify indicia of ML/TF risk and escalate patterns for reporting.
  • Ensure due diligence reviews of high risk flagged individuals/entities and anomalous transaction patterns.
  • Prepare Grounds of Suspicion (GoS) for filing Suspicious Activity Report (SAR).
  • Ensure that risk issues identified are duly escalated and reported on a priority basis.
  • Conduct annual ML/TF Risk Assessment and conduct periodical risk rating of the customers/merchants.
  • Investigations and Case Quality
  • Maintain high standards of investigation levels by conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of disposed cases not meeting quality control norms.
  • Ensure case outcomes meet quality control standards and recommend process improvements.
  • AML Monitoring Optimisation and Typology
  • Review the validation and optimisation of detection scenarios and recommend system retuning thresholds for minimising false positive alerts.
  • Analyse unusual transaction patterns periodically to understand new typologies and recommend controls to mitigate ML/TF risks to the organisation.
  • Review detection scenarios based on the typology study to configure additional red flag indicators in the AML system.
  • Regulatory Reporting and Submissions
  • Ensure submission of all regulatory reporting within the prescribed timelines and all adhoc queries raised by the regulator are responded within timelines.
  • Collate, review, and submit quarterly KYC/AML returns to the regulator.
  • Responsible for timely submission of CTR, STR, CCR, and NTR reports to FIU-India.
  • Ensure STR reports are filed within the stipulated timelines after due review of transaction patterns, Grounds of Suspicion and details of investigation.
  • Training and Awareness
  • Conduct advanced KYC/AML training for the AML team and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in respect of employee training.
  • Ensure adequate arrangements for awareness and training of all employees.


WHAT MATTERS IN THIS ROLE

Experience & Portfolio

  • Minimum 25 years of experience as AML Analyst or relevant role with banking and financial services institutions.
  • Thorough knowledge of AML processes, systems and tools (e.g. QDE, TrackWizz, NICE Actimize, Bridger XG etc.).
  • Graduate in any discipline with relevant certifications in AML (CAMS/CFCS/CAMI) preferred.
