Job Description: Ansible Engineer - L2

Location: Hyderabad

Experience: 2-5 years

Summary :

Design, develop, and support Ansible-based automation for provisioning, configuration management, and operational efficiency across environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, inventories, and reusable modules.
• Automate routine operations such as patching, deployments, and configuration drift remediation.
• Manage and operate Ansible Tower / Ansible Automation Platform (inventories, credentials, job templates, workflows, RBAC).
• Integrate Ansible automation with Git and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
• Troubleshoot playbook failures and issues.
• Implement secure automation practices for secrets and credentials (e.g., Ansible Vault, enterprise secret stores).
• Collaborate with platform and application teams to convert runbooks into automation.
• Create and maintain documentation, review code.

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience with Ansible (roles, Jinja2 templates, variables, handlers, tags).
• Strong Linux fundamentals and networking basics.
• Working knowledge of Git and standard branching / PR practices.
• Scripting experience in Bash and/or Python.
• Ability to analyze logs and drive incident resolution.
• Hands-on with Ansible Tower / Ansible Automation Platform (projects, inventories, credentials, job templates, workflows).

Good to Have

• Cloud automation exposure (Azure/AWS/GCP) including dynamic inventory patterns.
• Monitoring/logging integration for automation runs (ELK/Splunk/Azure Monitor) and alerting on failures.
• Familiarity with Git branching strategies, PR reviews, and code quality gates.
• Container/Kubernetes automation experience.
• Experience building self-service automation (runbooks/catalog items) for app/platform teams.
