JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary:

Responsible for doing complex Structural Linear/Non-Linear/Dynamic Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using ANSYS requiring a deep understanding of static and dynamic structural principles for in-depth support to new product development, VAVE projects, failure analysis and Order/Offers projects.

Major Responsibilities:

• Execute the Structural Linear/Non-Linear/Dynamic Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using ANSYS WB for Power transmission products like Couplings, Bearings, Gearings, Clutches & Brakes and Electric motors with minimum reviews. Majorly supporting assembly simulations.
• Understanding customer needs, define and document scope and approach with appropriate loads and boundary conditions and appropriate acceptance criteria.
• Planning/executing of FEA requests following proper reviews and giving feasible solutions assuring high quality and timely deliverables with minimum reviews.
• Automation of repetitive FE tasks.
• FE results post processing & result interpretation and creating good technical reports.
• Carry out analytical calculations using engineering fundamentals, perform sanity checks on analysis results, develop calculators if required and interpreting/comparing Test vs FEA results.
• Work with different Global Engineering teams with regular communications on project progress. Arrange and lead meetings for project/report reviews.
• Developing new capabilities and developing/refining FEA methodologies for various product lines and documenting them.
• Partial involvement in testing of Power transmission products.
• Follow RegalRexnord Ethics and Safety Programs.
• Perform other assignments per business need.

Required Education / Experience / Skills: Master’s degree in Machine Design/3 to 5 yrs. Experience in simulation/ Excellent Meshing skills/Excellent verbal, written communication, presentation skills, Strong commitment, excellent problem-solving skills, Self-motivated, a good team player and capable of working with minimal supervision.
