Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to API testing or basic automation (e.g., Selenium) is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of insurance regulations and compliance testing.
  • ISTQB Foundation Level certification or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2 to 5 years of manual testing experience, preferably in insurance or financial services.
  • Experience testing policy administration systems such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco, Life/Asia, or similar platforms (hands-on experience with any is a plus).
  • Understanding of insurance policy workflows, such as issuance, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, and reinstatements.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL for database validation.
  • Familiarity with test case management and defect tracking tools.
  • Good understanding of SDLC and STLC processes.
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
     

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand and analyse business requirements and functional specifications related to insurance policy administration.
  • Create, maintain, and execute manual test cases for various policy-related processes including new business, policy changes, renewals, cancellations, and claims.
  • Validate policy rules, rating logic, and premium calculations through thorough testing.
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT) support.
  • Log, track, and retest defects using tools like JIRA, HP ALM, or Bugzilla.
  • Work collaboratively with developers, business analysts, and other QA team members to ensure complete test coverage.
  • Document test results, maintain test evidence, and support the QA reporting process.
  • Participate in Agile or Waterfall development cycles, as applicable.
  • Assist in preparing test data and configuring test environments.
