Analyst, SQL Database

Summary:

The “Analyst, SQL Database” will be based in Coimbatore, reporting to Manager

In charge of providing technical administrative and implementations holds up for SQL Databases and the related Business applications. Ensuring ITIL practices are followed diligently at all times.

Always align the IT services provided with the needs of the Business. While the primary focus should be on the stability of the database systems, architecting, design, installation, and setup of the infrastructure are other core controls for this role.

What a typical day looks like:

• Define, design, implement and hold up enterprise databases systems helping various business application solutions.
• Prepare Standard Operating procedures for the day-to-day maintenance of the databases.
• Implement adequate administrative tools and processes for these enterprise database systems.

• Ensure monitoring and controls are in place to ensure stability of the databases
• Improve procedures, automation, and deployments in different database systems administrator
• Ensure to maintenance of database systems, servers and holds up diverse applications
• Proactive monitoring of enterprise database systems to ensure they are adequately sized to meet the dynamic requirements from the business solutions.
• Ensure proper backup and retention polices are in place to ensure minimum data loss to the business in case of failures.
• Ensure knowledge pertaining to new implementations and technologies are adequately divided into with the team.
• Establish clear communication channels and ensure proper feedback mechanisms are in place with customers, peers, and cross functional teams.
• Adherence to Service level acceptance accord with the Business. Ensure timely reviews with stakeholders.
• Ensure minimum ‘MTTR (Mean time to Repair)’ while fixing problems. Follow-up with proper root cause investigation, corrective & preventive actions with an aim to increase ‘MTBF (Mean time between failures)’.
• Ensure compliance of the systems w.r.t security and SOX requirements.
• Ensure these database systems are always up to date in terms of Security patches.
• Propose system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of the system.
• Make final resolutions on administrative or operational matters and ensure operations’ effective achievement of goals.
• Review goals to define success of operation, involved developing, modifying and executing company policies that affect immediate operations(s) and may also have company-wide effect.
   

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Typically requires a minimum of 4- 6 years of related experience.
• Demonstrates advanced functional and technical skills and basic people and/or process management skills.
• Demonstrates advanced/ thorough knowledge of the function and Flex business.
• Has awareness of DATA BASE, SQL, the functional impact upon work processes and other functions.
• Demonstrates knowledge of multiple functional technologies/ processes, industries or functions and comprehension of connections of such processes at the site.
