The team deals with a range of products involving multiple analog and mixed signal circuits that require test and characterization. These include bandgaps, DC-DC converters, ADCs and DACs, Isolation Products, PHYs for interfaces such as CAN, LIN, RS485 etc. The aim is to catch all design bugs during characterization and debug them to find the root cause. Further, all faulty devices should get screened out during production testing so that no bad devices reach the customer. The characterization cycle time has to be minimized to enable the products to reach the market as quickly as possible and the production test time has to be minimized to maximize profitability of the product without compromising on the quality of the product. The test circuits/solutions/systems are efficiently designed to enable us to release families of more than 50 devices to market in less than a year and similar systems need to be redesigned for every new class of products.

After extensive characterization, a statistical analysis of the data is to be performed to understand yield expectations and fix potential yield issues. A production test program is also generated to test every device before it goes to the customer in the minimum possible time at the lowest possible cost. Optimized test solutions are developed to characterize and test an entire family of devices and release them to market in a short cycle time. This includes automation of lab set-ups to maximize productivity. Understanding of and design for qualification tests like HTOL, HAST, etc. is also required.

Good understanding of analog circuit design is essential. Understanding of lab equipment and how to select equipment for a particular requirement. Experience in data analysis, identifying trends, correlating them against design expectations and debugging exceptions. Experience with Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) and production testing. Familiarity with PCB design tools, LabView/TestStand and ETS364 ATE platform are preferred.
