Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous AI-Native Quality Engineer to champion quality across our fintech platform. You will own the entire testing lifecycle from strategy and planning to execution, ensuring every payment flow, transaction, and API we ship is flawless and secure. This is not a manual QA role. AI-assisted test automation is your primary operating mode.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own the end-to-end test strategy for web and mobile applications, including test plans, test cases, and execution cycles.
• Design, build, and maintain a scalable test automation framework using Playwright as the primary tool, built from scratch, not inherited.
• Use AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) actively for test case generation, edge case identification, and test documentation. This is mandatory, not optional.
• Perform rigorous testing on critical financial workflows: payment processing, transaction integrity, reconciliation, and report generation.
• Plan and conduct API testing using Postman or REST Assured to ensure data is processed accurately and securely.
• Conduct performance and load tests to ensure the platform handles high transaction volumes.
• Contribute to security vulnerability assessments and compliance testing (PCI-DSS, RBI guidelines).
• Collaborate closely with SDE-II and Associate Product Lead in agile sprints to identify and resolve bugs early.
• Write and execute SQL queries to validate data integrity in the database.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on software quality assurance experience, with a significant portion in fintech, payments, or financial services - mandatory.
• Proven experience building test automation frameworks from scratch using Playwright. Cucumber is a plus. Selenium is a distant second choice.
• Strong proficiency in using AI tools for QA automation (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) - must demonstrate a real AI-assisted workflow.
• Strong proficiency with API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured) and deep understanding of REST API architecture.
• In-depth knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes in an agile environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a relentless passion for quality in financial products.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with payment gateways, transaction processing, and financial regulations (ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, RBI guidelines).
• Solid understanding of SQL for database testing and data integrity validation.
• Exposure to performance/load testing frameworks.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years in QA with a clear automation-first approach and demonstrated AI tool usage.
