AI DB Architect

Role: Database Architect (AI/GenAI | Cloud | Performance Engineering)

We are looking for a seasoned Database Architect to own and design endtoend database architectures across OLTP, OLAP, hybrid, and AI/GenAI workloads. This role demands deep expertise in performance engineering, cloud-native data platforms, HA/DR strategy, automation, and nextgeneration AIdriven database solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Database & AI Architecture

• Architect endtoend database solutions for GenAI, AI/ML, model finetuning, ETL pipelines, OLTP/OLAP workloads.
• Lead conceptual, logical & physical data modeling including metadata governance and schema standardization.

Performance Engineering

• Design methodologies for performance tuning, indexing, query optimization, caching, and troubleshooting complex workloads.

High Availability & DR

• Build HA/DR solutions using replication, clustering, sharding, failover, and backup/restore strategies.

Security & Governance

• Implement encryption, RBAC/ABAC, auditing, governance, and compliance-first database security frameworks.

Cloud & Automation

• Design database architectures on Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Enable automated provisioning, monitoring, CI/CD using DevOps & IaC tools.

Integration & Ecosystem

• Integrate databases with ETL/ELT (Airflow, dbt), streaming systems (Kafka, Spark), data lakes and enterprise applications.

Leadership & Innovation

• Provide HLD/LLD, architectural roadmaps, and crossfunctional technical guidance.
• Evaluate and adopt modern database technologies for AI/GenAI workloads.

AI/GenAI Expertise (Highly Preferred)

• Knowledge of LLMs, GenAI, prompt engineering.
• Experience using Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot for DBA automation and documentation.
• Understanding of vector databases, embeddings, RAG architectures.

Required Qualifications

• 1018 years of overall IT experience.
• 59 years as DBA/DB Engineer with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL.
• 46 years in database architecture, HA/DR design, and performance engineering.
• Strong experience with cloud migrations and modernization (onprem Cloud, Oracle PostgreSQL, SQL Azure SQL, AWS RDS).
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT, streaming, DevOps, IaC.
• Ability to work with semi-structured/unstructured data (JSON, Parquet, Avro, text).
