AI Agentic Developer/Engineer Service Ticket to Procurement Automation

Role Summary

We are looking for a strong dynamic AI Agentic Developer to design and build autonomous AI workflows that can read service tickets, understand intent, check inventory, trigger procurement actions, and notify stakeholders across systems. The goal of this role is to move from insight to outcome with minimal human intervention, making ROI from AI automation visible and measurable.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop AI agents that can understand and classify IT/service tickets (incidents, requests, change tickets) and map them to standard workflows.
• Build agentic workflows that read ticket data, extract entities (item, location, priority, requester, approvals), and decide next best actions.
• Integrate AI agents with inventory systems (ERP, CMDB, asset management tools) to check stock, reservations, and availability in real time.
• Implement automated decision logic to determine whether to allocate from stock, initiate interstore transfer, or trigger new procurement.
• Connect agents to procurement platforms (eprocurement, ERP purchasing, vendor portals, internal approval tools) to raise PRs/POs or draft purchase recommendations.
• Orchestrate notifications and updates to all stakeholders (requestor, approver, store/inventory team, vendor, finance, service owner) via email, chat, and ticket comments.
• Ensure closedloop execution: update ticket status, log actions taken, attach AI decisions/explanations, and push data back into ITSM/ERP systems.
• Define and implement guardrails, approval checkpoints, and exception handling to keep the agents actions secure, compliant, and auditable.
• Monitor performance of AI workflows (accuracy, turnaround time, autoresolution %, cost per ticket) and continuously optimize for better ROI.
• Collaborate with process owners, ITSM leads, procurement, and finance teams to translate business rules and policies into robust agent behaviors.
• Build and maintain evaluation suites, test cases, and reference scenarios to validate agent behavior before and after deployment.
• Document architectures, prompts, tools, APIs, and workflows so that automation can be reliably operated and extended by the broader engineering team.

Required Skills and Experience

• 24 years of experience in software development or data/ML engineering, with at least 12 years handson in Generative AI / AI agent development.
• Strong programming skills in Python (or similar) and experience with AI/LLM frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, CrewAI, etc.).
• Solid understanding of large language models, prompt engineering, tool calling/function calling, and agentic design patterns (planning, memory, reflection, tool orchestration).
• Experience integrating AI systems with REST APIs, webhooks, message queues, and enterprise platforms (ITSM tools like ServiceNow/Jira, ERP/Procurement, Inventory or Asset Management systems).
• Practical exposure to workflow orchestration and automation platforms (e.g., Airflow, temporal.io, Camunda, Zapier/Make, or inhouse orchestration).
• Familiarity with relational databases and/or NoSQL, vector databases, and semantic search for context retrieval.
• Experience with productiongrade deployment: containerization (Docker), CI/CD, logging, monitoring, and observability for AI services.
• Strong understanding of IT service management or supplychain/procurement processes is a plus (incident/request management, PR/PO lifecycle, approvals, SLAs).
• Ability to convert ambiguous business requirements into clear AI workflows with measurable KPIs and ROI metrics.
• Good communication skills to explain AI decisions and tradeoffs to nontechnical stakeholders.
