Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations for a fast-growing software/technology startup. This role involves ensuring statutory compliance, supporting audits, and delivering accurate financial insights to management.The position requires very good English proficiency, as associates may work directly with customers and government agencies in the United States.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain books of accounts, including journal entries, ledgers, and reconciliations
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, and vendor payments
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Handle GST, TDS, income tax compliance, and statutory filings
• Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities
• Monitor cash flow, budgets, and expense controls
• Support payroll processing and employee reimbursements
• Prepare MIS reports, financial analysis, and forecasts for management
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
• Implement and improve accounting processes suitable for a growing startup

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance
• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience (startup or IT/software industry preferred)
• Strong knowledge of Indian taxation (GST, TDS, Income Tax)
• Hands-on experience with accounting software (Tally, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or similar)
• Experience working with auditors and handling statutory audits
