JOB DESCRIPTION

Accountant

An Accountant job involvesmanaging, analyzing, and reporting an organization's financial transactions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and financial health, handling tasks like preparing financial statements (balance sheets, P&L, cash flow), reconciling accounts, managing budgets, filing taxes, and providing insights for business decisions, requiring strong analytical, communication, and detail-oriented skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

  Data Management: Document, organize, and maintain financial records, ensuring all entries are accurate and consistent.

  Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements, accounts, and financial discrepancies.

  Compliance: Ensure adherence to accounting standards, tax laws, and financial regulations.

  Analysis & Insights: Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and profit maximization.

  Budgeting: Assist in creating and monitoring budgets and forecasts.

  Auditing: Cooperate with internal/external auditors and prepare audit reports.

  Taxation: Calculate and submit tax returns and ensure timely filing.

Essential Skills & Attributes:

Strong understanding of accounting principles and software E.G. Tally Prime, MS Excel.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

High attention to detail and integrity.

Strong verbal and written communication.

Ability to present complex financial data clearly.

Proficiency with spreadsheets and financial systems (like Excel, accounting software).
