Role Overview

URVA Consulting is hiring an Import & Trade Compliance Manager on behalf of its client, Agro Africa Trading Company, a Mumbai-based trading firm primarily engaged in agro commodities.

This position requiring hands-on experience in import documentation, trade compliance, cargo coordination, financial tracking, and operational reporting. The role will act as a key bridge between the business owner and the operations team, ensuring seamless cargo management, compliance adherence, and structured reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end import trade compliance and documentation processes
• Manage cargo tracking, stock reconciliation, and quantity verification upon arrival
• Prepare structured reports on cargo received, stock movement, and sales status
• Monitor goods inflow and outflow, ensuring accurate accounting and reconciliation
• Coordinate with the Dubai office regarding shipment status, documentation, and transaction updates
• Ensure compliance with import regulations, statutory documentation, and internal controls
• Maintain accurate MIS reports for management review
• Work closely with the business owner to provide operational visibility and financial clarity

Mandatory Requirements

• 35 years of experience in import trading, agro commodities, or commodity trading operations
• 3 years of work experience with Tally ERP
• Strong knowledge of import compliance, documentation, and cargo management
• Background in commerce / accounting with practical exposure to stock and financial reconciliation
• Prior experience handling or supervising a small team
• Proficiency in Tally, MS Excel, and reporting tools
• Strong analytical and coordination skills
• Calm, structured, and process-oriented working style
• Candidate must be based in Mumbai (Western Suburbs preferred)
