Job Description
We are hiring for Accessibility Developer for a Global CX and BPO opertaion firm for Pune location
Accessibility Developer
Exp : 2 to 3 Years
CTC : 11 LPA
Location : Pune
Shift : 5 Days 24*7
No of positions : 40 open roles
Essential Functions:
- Author custom fixes using jQuery, TypeScript, CSS, and HTML to ensure client sites are compatible with assistive technologies and meet accessibility standards.
- Contribute to custom documentation that instructs clients on how to resolve remaining barriers at the source level.
- Collaborate with the Expert Audit Team to ensure accessibility barriers are effectively addressed.
- Interpret violations on client sites identified by internal scanners.
- Interface with cross-functional teams to report process and internal tooling issues.
- Report status updates and estimated completion times to management.
- Interpret WCAG guidelines and implement W3C authoring practices.
Essential Skills:
- Effectively communicate technical and non-technical information through written English language, including templated client feedback explaining accessibility issues and remediation steps
- Strong understanding of CSS, HTML and semantic markup including inherent element roles and properties. Familiarity with ARIA
- Solid foundation in JavaScript fundamentals including DOM manipulation and event handling (experience with TypeScript and jQuery preferred)
- Ability to debug browser errors using developer tools, including console testing and troubleshooting script execution
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and apply best practices based on WCAG guidelines
- Willingness to learn accessibility standards and assistive technology testing
- Ability to use built-in desktop screen readers (NVDA, VoiceOver, or JAWS) and keyboard navigation to effectively test user experience (training provided)
- Strong attention to detail with commitment to avoiding visual or functional changes to client sites
Experience Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 and Section 508 standards preferred
- CPACC (Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies) or WAS (Web Accessibility Specialist) certification preferred
- 2+ years of experience in web development or quality assurance
- Experience working in an iterative development environment or ticketing system (JIRA, etc.)
