Job Description: Academic Lead (Full-Time)
Location: Rajkot, Gujarat
Reporting to: Academic Head / Dean / Class Representative
Employment Type: Full-time, On-site (Rajkot)
Role Summary
We are looking for a Lead Academic to drive academic excellence, strengthen teaching-learning processes, and lead institutional academic documentation - especially NAAC readiness and compliance. The role involves supervising and mentoring a team of 6 - 7 trainers, improving pedagogy, ensuring quality of course delivery, and reviewing academic documentation (course files, lesson plans, assessments, and reports) before final submission.
Key Responsibilities
1.Academic Leadership & Team Supervision
- Supervise and mentor a team of 6 - 7 trainers/faculty members across UG/PG programs.
- Provide guidance on teaching pedagogy , classroom engagement strategies, and outcome-based learning practices.
- Conduct regular academic reviews, one-on-one mentoring, and performance feedback sessions.
- Support trainers in improving lesson delivery, assessment design, and student learning outcomes.
2.Academic Quality & Process Improvement
- Establish and monitor academic processes such as lesson planning, course delivery tracking, evaluation practices, and continuous improvement.
- Drive academic excellence through standardization of course files, rubrics, lab manuals, and documentation formats.
- Coordinate academic audits and ensure compliance with institutional standards and timelines.
- Identify gaps and implement corrective actions to strengthen academic operations.
3.Documentation & Accreditation Support
- Lead and coordinate documentation processes across relevant criteria and departments.
- Ensure proper maintenance of academic evidence: course files, attendance records, assessment documents, feedback forms, MoMs, and activity reports.
- Prepare, review, and validate documents and supporting proofs prior to submission to the department/committee.
- Train the academic team on documentation best practices, evidence collection, and audit preparedness.
4.Curriculum Support & Delivery Enhancement
- Support curriculum planning and mapping (where applicable): learning outcomes, CO-PO/PSO mapping (for engineering), and outcome alignment.
- Review assessment tools (question papers, assignments, projects) for quality, relevance, and appropriate difficulty level.
- Promote best practices such as active learning, project-based learning, case methods, and blended learning.
5.Reporting, Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with department heads/administration for academic planning, reporting, and compliance updates.
- Prepare academic reports/dashboards: trainer performance, course progress, documentation status, audit findings.
- Ensure timely submission of academic documents to the concerned departments and compliance teams.
6.Additional Responsibilities
- Drive student feedback collection and action plans to enhance learning experience.
- Support institutional events, academic committees, and internal quality assurance activities (IQAC-related tasks).
Eligibility Criteria
Education
M.Tech, MBA, MCA or PhD in any discipline from a recognized institution/university.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of academic experience in teaching UG/PG programs in any of the following domains:
- Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.)
- Management (BBA/MBA)
- Computer/Computing Applications (BCA/MCA)
- Experience must be with a recognized university/institution.
Mandatory Skills
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with NAAC documentation processes and evidence management.
- Ability to review and improve course files, teaching plans, assessments, and academic reports
- Proven capability to lead and mentor a team of trainers/faculty.
