Job Description
Job Purpose:
To support the development of accurate and intelligent 3D models for the Polycarbonate Plant Relocation project (D3 Project) and future greenfield and brownfield projects (Phenol, Cumene, IPA, CHN, Offsites & Utilities). The role involves integrating laser-scanned data, engineering inputs, and existing documentation to create high-quality models that aid engineering, construction, and procurement activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and update 3D models using AVEVA E3D, SmartPlant 3D (SP3D), and IDS Viewer for both greenfield and brownfield projects.
- Integrate laser-scanned data with P&IDs, equipment layouts, and piping isometrics to model existing plants.
- Generate piping layouts, isometrics, general arrangement (GA) drawings, and support drawings using 3D models and piping catalog specifications.
- Validate and update equipment, instrument, and line tagging in the 3D model based on P&IDs and site data.
- Extract 2D deliverables (e.g., piping plans, equipment layouts, cable tray layouts, civil/structural GAs) from the 3D model for multidisciplinary engineering use.
- Participate in model reviews with EPCM consultants, dismantling contractors, and site teams.
- Coordinate with ASETS and other digital tool vendors for model enhancements and integration.
- Assist in preparing area-wise MTOs, barcoding interfaces, and packaging documentation.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in AVEVA E3D, SmartPlant 3D (SP3D), IDS Viewer, and related 3D platforms.
- Strong understanding of piping specifications, supports, insulation, and special items (e.g., strainers, vents, steam traps).
- Experience in equipment, structural, and E&I modeling.
- Ability to interpret and cross-reference P&IDs, piping isometrics, and equipment datasheets.
- Familiarity with laser scan point cloud integration and conversion to intelligent 3D models.
- Capability to generate 2D outputs across multiple disciplines (Civil, Mechanical, Piping, E&I).
- Working knowledge of PMS/VMS systems and catalog management.
- Effective communication and coordination skills for working with cross-functional teams.
Educational Qualifications:
- Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Design, or a related discipline.
Experience Required:
- 5-10 years of experience in 3D modeling for petrochemical, chemical, or refinery projects.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with E3D or SP3D platforms.
- Experience working with laser-scanned models and developing models from as-built scan data, especially in cases of incomplete documentation.
- Experience with Laser Scanning
