Windows Infrastructure Architect

We are seeking a Windows Infrastructure Architect to lead enterprise-scale infrastructure engagements. This role blends deep technical expertise, structured troubleshooting, and customer-facing delivery. You will partner directly with clients to stabilize, optimize, and modernize their infrastructure, ensuring reliability and resilience at scale.

Unlike a pure design/build role, this position emphasizes diagnosing real-world issues, driving resolution, and embedding long-term improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Engagement

• Serve as the primary technical advisor for infrastructure programs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify challenges and define actionable solutions.
• Lead technical workshops, deep-dive sessions, and architecture discussions.
• Apply hands-on expertise across:
• Windows Server (2016/2019/2022)
• Hyper-V virtualization & Failover Clustering
• Cluster networking, storage, replication, and disaster recovery
• SCVMM or equivalent management tools
• Active Directory, DNS, enterprise networking, and certificate management

Infrastructure Delivery

• Drive end-to-end delivery across Windows Server and virtualization environments.
• Assess risks, identify improvement areas, and implement remediation plans.
• Optimize environments for performance, scalability, and resilience.

Troubleshooting & Stabilization

• Lead resolution of complex issues across compute, storage, networking, and identity layers.
• Perform root cause analysis, resolve failover/replication issues, and eliminate performance bottlenecks.
• Ensure long-term fixes and environment stability.

Architecture & Best Practices

• Align customer environments with proven architecture standards.
• Design scalable, high-availability solutions with strong disaster recovery posture.
• Enhance platform reliability and operational maturity.

Operational Improvement

• Guide customers on monitoring, observability, patch/configuration management, and performance tuning.
• Help standardize operations and improve consistency across environments.

Core Technical Skills

• Windows & Virtualization: Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Hyper-V, Failover Clustering
• Infrastructure Foundations: Active Directory, DNS, networking fundamentals, certificates/security
• Platform & Management: VM lifecycle, storage/cluster configurations, SCVMM or equivalent tools

Troubleshooting Expertise (Critical)

Candidates must demonstrate hands-on experience in:

• Resolving infrastructure outages and cluster instability
• Diagnosing performance degradation and configuration drift
• Troubleshooting dependencies across compute, storage, network, and identity layers

Delivery & Customer Skills

• Strong communication and customer-facing presence
• Ability to translate technical issues into business impact
• Experience in enterprise/regulatory environments
• Skilled at structured execution and managing ambiguity

Working Model

• 75% onsite engagement (mandatory)
• Close collaboration with customer teams at their location
• Flexibility to support escalations and critical situations

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Hands-on architect balancing design and execution
• Strong troubleshooting mindset with attention to detail
• Comfortable in complex, non-standardized environments
• Confident in leading customer conversations and influencing decisions

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with hybrid (on-prem + cloud) environments
• Exposure to Azure infrastructure services
• Consulting or managed services background
• Certifications in Windows Server, Azure, or virtualization
