JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Databricks Data Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines using modern Lakehouse architecture. This role supports ingestion, transformation, governance, and analytics ready consumption of financial services data while enabling governed enterprise AI and GenAI use cases through reliable and operationalized Databricks platforms.

Develop production grade batch and streaming data pipelines using Databricks and Apache Spark.

Implement lake house architecture patterns (Bronze/Silver/Gold) to serve analytics ready datasets.

Build governed data engineering workflows using Unity Catalog and Delta Live Tables. Apply data quality expectations and governance controls within declarative pipelines.

Support enterprise AI/GenAI workloads leveraging AI enabled genei functions.

Ensure reliability through cluster sizing, performance tuning, retry strategies, and failure mitigation.

Minimum Qualifications 8+ years of experience building production data pipelines on Databricks/Spark.

Strong Pyspark and SQL expertise for ETL/ELT development and optimization.

Experience with Delta Lake including CDC patterns, Medallion Architecture, streaming, checkpointing, and exactly once semantics.

Familiarity with regulated financial services, data environments and governance expectations.

Cloud platform competency for operationalized Databricks environments.
